PA Sport is Content King for Virgin Media.

August 2007 - PA Sport, the global leader in sports information, has signed a new partnership with Virgin Media to be the main content supplier to their new sports portal, www.virginmedia.com/sport. Virgin Media's newly-launched website aims to create one of the UK's most comprehensive and original internet sports services.

The content partnership is wide ranging, covering a variety of sports and including a large amount of ‘real-time' score updates together with customised editorial content.

Under the terms of the agreement, PA Sport will provide editorial and data covering more than 30 sports, ranging from football, cricket and rugby union to boxing, athletics and snooker.  The service will be rolled-out over the next few months as different areas of the portal are introduced.

The editorial content PA Sport is supplying includes round-the-clock breaking sports news, match and event previews, reports, big name interviews and in-depth features, delivered 365 days a year.  Some of the editorial content will be bespoke for Virgin Media and written in their own house style.

PA Sport will also provide a full data service, covering fixture information, real-time score flashes and in-running match updates, results, statistics and tables, ensuring their customers never miss a kick.

As part of the agreement, Virgin Media will also be taking the ShootLive football photo service from PA Sport's sister company, PA Photos.  Real-time pictures from all 380 English Premier League matches will be streamed to virginmedia.com within minutes of the action happening.

Ian Campbell, Managing Director of PA Sport UK and Europe said "We are delighted that Virgin Media have chosen to partner with us. This deal is a show of faith in our editorial teams' ability to create compelling content and the scope of our real-time data services. "

Chris Bunyan, director of portal at Virgin Media, said: "PA Sport deliver a dynamic service which meets the very high standards we expect.  We are committed to investing in exciting content that brings the action to life, and PA Sport has the capacity and flexibility to help us achieve this. "
