PA Sport South Africa has teamed up with the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) to deliver PSL Mobile - an exciting new venture that gives football fans unprecedented levels of live match coverage.

PSL Mobile enables fans of South African football to follow all the action, as it happens, home and away. 

Our Man of the Match

The service is based on Football Live, which set new standards for the live collection of football data when it was launched by PA Sport in 2000 to cover the English Premier League and English Footballl League.

We send one data gatherer to each match.  In every case they are soccer experts - and in most cases former players.  Using their specialist knowledge of the game, they provide instant information, by phone, on all of the action.

Every key event in a match is logged by our data processors in the UK and then turned round for the quickest delivery to the fans.  

So when your team scores you hear about it in seconds - almost as quickly as if you were at the match.  We also deliver the fastest information on cautions and dismissals and much, much more.

It's accurate, it's in-depth and it's official.

PA Sport and the PSL 

PA Sport, the world's leading sport news and information provider, joined forces with the PSL to help develop media coverage of football in South Africa.  We formed PA Sport South Africa, as a joint venture with South African company Umliba, to help strengthen that relationship.

PSL mobile is the first commercial offering to be launched as as result of the data partnership between the PSL and PA Sport SA.  This service will be made available to the media, the betting industry, sponsors and clubs.

The establishment of PA Sport SA ensures the service is managed in South Africa by South Africans.

How it Works 

For the first time in South Africa the fans, media and other businesses interested in South African football can access official PSL news, match results, goal alerts and other statistics with their mobile phones as the action happens.

The procedure is exactly the same as for the English Premier League.  We have a total of 30 match data gatherers.  They are spread all over South Africa, and that means we can cover every game in the PSL and Mvela Golden Leagues - including cup-ties.

Fans throughout southern Africa can register to receive the service, and they're finding our fast that it's the next best thing to being there.

Service packages range from team by team results and game information to comprehensive live updates of key match data.  Subscribers can also opt for a package of the latest breaking news stories and they are given the opportunity to send their own views and comments to the PSL
